Technical Architect

Delivers Snowflake-based data platform solutions for customers, translating business challenges into technical architectures, implementations, and AI/ML use cases. Requires 5–8 years of post-sales technical delivery experience, strong data-stack expertise, customer communication skills, and willingness to travel.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert across all aspects of Snowflake.
  • Deploy Snowflake according to best practices, including sharing knowledge so customers can correctly understand and extend Snowflake capabilities.
  • Work directly with customers to demonstrate and communicate best practices for implementing Snowflake technology.
  • Understand competing and complementary technologies and vendors, and appropriately position Snowflake in relation to them.
  • Collaborate with system integrator consultants at a deep technical level to successfully position and deploy Snowflake in customer environments.
  • Provide solutions and guidance for customer-specific technical challenges.
  • Support the development of team members’ expertise and knowledge sharing.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake products and marketing.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of technical customer-facing experience in post-sales technical delivery.
  • Ability to accurately understand customer needs and independently propose and drive project approaches.
  • Ability to deliver strong presentations and demonstrations to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Understanding of the complete data analytics stack and workflows, from ETL and data platform design through BI and analytics tools.
  • Design and implementation skills covering databases, data warehouses, and data processing.
  • Extensive practical experience with SQL and SQL analytics.
  • Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, Perl, Bash, or similar tools.
  • Ability and flexibility to work onsite with customers and travel as needed.
  • Experience proposing, implementing, and using AI/ML solutions to solve business problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of and design or implementation experience with large-scale database technologies such as Redshift, Netezza, Exadata, and Teradata.
  • Experience and knowledge of large-scale data processing tools such as Spark, Hadoop, and HBase.
  • Understanding and experience with BI and data exploration tools such as Tableau, Sigma, Qlik, Omni, and Looker.
  • Experience implementing ETL pipelines with custom and packaged tools.
  • Experience designing and building systems using public clouds such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with data migration projects.
  • Experience designing and implementing AI/ML on data analytics platforms.
  • Experience proposing and driving adoption of AI products, including Snowflake Cortex.
  • Experience designing, proof-of-concepting, and implementing AI/ML and GenAI use cases.
  • Experience advising on MLOps, governance, monitoring, and security.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, LLM robustness, and AI-specific risk mitigation.
