What You'll Do
- Own state policy strategy across your region: tracking the legislative calendar, identifying opportunities, and sequencing campaigns
- Monitor regulatory developments and identify initiatives that affect Kalshi
- Build and maintain relationships with elected and appointed officials, legislative committees, and state agencies to advocate for and educate them about Kalshi's product
- Draft and shape policy language
- Travel to priority states and be in the room when it matters
What You Bring
- Experience working inside state government or an Attorney General's office or running state-level government affairs campaigns, ideally in a novel or contested regulatory environment
- Deep familiarity with the political landscape of the Western US: California's regulatory complexity, the Pacific Northwest's legislative dynamics, and the varied politics across mountain and island states (one or all)
- Proven ability to manage third parties
- Strong instincts on policy language
- Willingness to travel across the West (and New York - HQ - on occasion)
