Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate Data Processing Agreements with customers, subprocessors, service providers, and third parties.
- Help develop, maintain, and scale global privacy programs, including Data Protection Impact Assessments and Records of Processing.
- Advise product and engineering teams on the impact of privacy and data protection laws and regulatory guidance on product development.
- Monitor and respond to changes in privacy laws and regulations, including AI regulations.
- Support compliance with AI-specific regulation, including the EU AI Act, UK AI governance frameworks, and related guidance.
- Assist with AI system classification, risk-obligation assessments, and development of internal AI governance controls, documentation, and processes.
- Partner with legal, product, and compliance stakeholders on AI principles including transparency, accountability, and human oversight.
- Collaborate with commercial, sales, go-to-market, and security teams.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years of post-qualification experience in privacy and data protection.
- Expertise in EU and U.S. data protection law, with familiarity across global compliance frameworks.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills involving data privacy, AI, and security.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Highly responsive and detail-oriented, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
