Responsibilities
- Design and implement REST and GraphQL endpoints.
- Design and implement highly available, latency-sensitive, fault-tolerant microservices.
- Build core infrastructure for processing large volumes of video streaming data.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services.
- Develop large-scale platform solutions and own small-to-medium platform features end-to-end.
- Own one or more services or product features across their lifecycle.
- Manage service reliability, including cloud operations work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field with a programming background.
- At least 4 years of experience building scalable and available web services.
- Strong experience with at least one object-oriented programming language.
- Expertise in APIs, general web backend design principles, relational databases, streaming pipelines, publish-subscribe systems, and indexing systems.
- Ability to write clean and maintainable code.
- Experience designing and implementing complex systems involving multiple services, publish-subscribe paradigms, and microservices architectures.
- Experience with cloud operations on AWS or Google Cloud.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or similar technologies.
- Experience building SaaS product offerings.
