About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build and own Twenty's financial model end-to-end, including annual planning, the headcount ledger, board reporting, and the analytical engine for company decisions.
  • Run semi-annual budgeting and ongoing headcount planning.
  • Stand up reporting infrastructure that gives every function visibility into performance and translate financials into actionable insights for team leaders.
  • Partner with the Founders and VP Finance on the next fundraise, build the data room, own diligence, and handle monthly executive updates and quarterly board reporting.
  • Run systems that keep the company moving: compensation design, offer generation, performance structure, and spend policies.
  • Lead special projects such as real estate, market research, vendor strategy, and software procurement.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years in investment banking, private equity, or strategic finance at a top-tier startup.
  • Mastery with Excel and Google Sheets; able to build a highly legible three-statement model and layer in scenario modeling.
  • Detail-obsessed with strong formatting skills for cross-functional communication.
  • High horsepower: able to dive into one-page memos for the CEO, slides for the Board, or offer packages for new hires.
  • Self-starter with urgency; figure things out without waiting for direction.
  • Generalist by instinct; apply first principles across finance, hiring, contracts, and ops.
  • Willing to relocate to the Washington, DC area and work in-person.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior background or interest in software, AI, cyber, defense, or intelligence.
  • Daily user of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini; experience with Claude Code, Cowork, Rogo, or Hebbia.
  • Sense of humor.
