Internal Communications Manager

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver communications for change initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, integrations, organizational changes, and People programs.
  • Write and edit employee communications across announcements, FAQs, talking points, manager toolkits, presentations, intranet news, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Translate complex or incomplete information into clear communications that anticipate employee questions and concerns.
  • Manage communications plans, calendars, project trackers, reviews, approvals, and delivery timelines across multiple projects.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align messaging, timing, audiences, and channels.
  • Support leadership communications, including company meetings, leadership updates, talking points, presentations, and announcements.
  • Identify communications risks and employee impacts, recommend solutions, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Gather and synthesize employee feedback and sentiment to refine messaging.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in internal, change, or corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing, copy-editing, and presentation-development skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience developing communications for acquisitions, integrations, organizational change, technology transformation, People programs, or other large-scale business changes.
  • Experience managing communications plans, timelines, stakeholders, reviews, and deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and presenting communications plans, recommendations, or materials to executive audiences.
  • Experience developing transparent employee communications that explain change clearly and build trust.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, as well as collaboration or project-management tools.
  • Experience in a high-growth technology, aerospace, defense, or other complex and regulated environment.
