Staff Software Engineer, Developer Platform

Staff engineer owning internal developer-platform infrastructure, monorepo CI/CD, shared build systems, and Agentic AI tooling. The role requires 8+ years of production platform experience, strong Go proficiency, expertise in CI/CD and container orchestration, and the ability to drive technical direction across teams.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Own significant portions of the Developer Platform, including monorepo CI/CD, the Agentic AI platform, and shared build infrastructure.
  • Write architectural design documents and coordinate across teams to deliver reliable, secure, performant, scalable, and maintainable software.
  • Improve the speed, reliability, and developer experience of monorepo CI/CD pipelines.
  • Develop systems beyond traditional pull-request workflows for agent-driven changes, including automated validation, AI-assisted review, and auto-merge for low-risk changes.
  • Productionize Agentic AI platform capabilities such as observability, structured traces, cost tracking, debuggability, shared memory, and context-engineering patterns.
  • Consolidate fragmented build systems and create standardized paved-road blueprints for product onboarding and production delivery.
  • Partner with engineers across the company to identify toil, codify patterns, and automate repetitive work.
  • Mentor engineers, improve design and code review standards, and contribute to engineering velocity and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building and operating production services and platform infrastructure in modern cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with Go or strong readiness to ramp quickly.
  • Deep expertise in CI/CD systems, container orchestration, and tooling for scaling monorepos across build, test, and release.
  • Experience contributing to technical direction across multiple teams, evaluating tradeoffs, deprecating legacy systems, and aligning teams around target architectures.
  • Familiarity with production Agentic AI or LLM-based automation and context engineering, including retrieval-augmented generation, memory, and tool calling.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and use data to improve product delivery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience scaling GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, Buildkite, or comparable high-throughput build and workflow systems.
  • Experience scaling change throughput beyond traditional pull-request workflows.
  • Experience with developer-experience metrics such as DORA and SPACE.
  • Experience operating a large Go monorepo and its supporting tooling.
  • Familiarity with supply-chain security, OCI, Kubernetes, or open-source software communities.
  • Experience publishing internal-platform milestones and running stakeholder feedback loops.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary: $205,000–$231,000 USD.
  • Stock options upon hire and promotion, with participation in secondary offerings and a 10-year exercise period.
  • Company-paid health, vision, and dental insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Flexible time off.
  • 18 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
  • Remote-first work culture, team meetups, destination summits, and coworking, phone, and internet stipends.
