Responsibilities
- Architect and build backend systems that orchestrate AI workflows, manage data pipelines, and integrate with enterprise financial tools
- Ingest and normalize data from scattered sources including public filings, earnings transcripts, market data feeds, and research reports
- Architect robust pipelines that transform fragmented data into a unified platform
- Integrate language models and AI capabilities to power intelligent research workflows
- Drive architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and establish patterns that scale across the platform
- Own systems end-to-end from architecture to production, including services, database optimization, deployment, monitoring, and reliability
- Optimize performance including database queries, API response times, and pipeline throughput
- Ship with production excellence including comprehensive testing, monitoring, and deployment pipelines
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and technical mentorship
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production applications at scale
- Strong backend experience with Python or Node.js, API design, PostgreSQL, and AWS
- Proven track record designing and scaling distributed systems
- Experience with large datasets, ETL pipelines, and analytics infrastructure
- Experience driving architectural decisions and mentoring engineers
- Proficiency with Git workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical trade-offs to engineering and business stakeholders
- Product mindset with focus on user needs and iterating on feedback
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with high ownership
