Sr. Technical Program Manager, FDE Engagements
Leads customer-facing technical programs for forward-deployed AI agent engagements, coordinating FDEs, customer engineers, Product, and account teams from onboarding through deployment and closeout. Requires 5+ years of complex technical program leadership and fluency in modern AI application architectures.

Responsibilities
Pre-customer Environment Access
- Secure access to the customer's collaboration and development tooling.
- Align on agent behavior, functionality, and architecture.
- Define collaboration practices between FDEs and customer engineering teams.
- Establish deployment paths across customer development and cloud environments.
- Confirm business goals, technical scope, and success criteria.
- Coordinate onboarding requirements, dependencies, readiness activities, statements of work, contractor onboarding, access approvals, and execution planning.
- Prepare technical design inputs and break work into executable tasks.
Deliverables:
- Engagement overview deck
- Agent technical specification
- Agent architecture
- Mutually agreed-upon definition of success
Agent Build and Prototyping
- Enable joint engineering teams to develop agents locally and contribute to shared repositories.
- Establish a viable path to production deployment.
- Support a single-team execution model across MongoDB and customer engineers.
- Drive coordination, planning, risk management, communication, escalation, and execution tracking.
- Provide status updates and feedback to Product stakeholders.
- Address deployment restrictions, including VDI, artifact repository, and regulated-environment requirements.
Deliverables:
- Customer onboarding session
- Engagement status updates and Product feedback
- Working agent deployed to the product and integrated into the customer's cloud infrastructure
Readout and Closeout
- Confirm long-term ownership of the agent.
- Establish a roadmap for continued usage and development.
- Identify opportunities for future paid FDE support.
- Prepare an engagement readout covering the delivered work, business value, and continued investment and adoption path.

Requirements
- 5+ years leading complex technical programs or engineering initiatives from initiation through delivery.
- Experience in customer-facing enterprise software, platform, infrastructure, or applied AI environments.
- Working fluency in AI application architectures, including LLM-based workflows, retrieval and grounding patterns, orchestration frameworks, and evaluation approaches.
- Ability to scope technical tradeoffs and partner credibly with technical teams.
- Experience operating in ambiguous, fast-changing technical environments.
- Strong planning, dependency management, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to align Engineering, Product, customer stakeholders, and delivery teams across onboarding, design, deployment, executive readouts, and transition to long-term ownership.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation, decision records, and communication tailored to technical, executive, and customer audiences.
- Ability to connect technical delivery decisions to customer business value, adoption, and long-term growth opportunities.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience in forward-deployed, embedded, or other high-touch customer delivery models.
- Experience with regulated or operationally constrained environments, enterprise access controls, non-standard development tooling, artifact repositories, and deployment governance.
