Responsibilities
- Pioneer Pinecone’s agent experience by designing interfaces, MCP protocols, and tooling for agentic workflows.
- Ship end-to-end experiences across APIs, SDKs, CLI tools, and web interfaces.
- Build AI-powered workflows, automated quality gates, and platform capabilities that multiply team output.
- Establish effective patterns for AI-assisted development using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to identify user and agent needs and build solutions at the right abstraction level.
- Build observable and auditable systems with monitoring, alerting, and verification mechanisms.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience.
- Bias toward automation and leverage, using systems and tooling instead of manual effort.
- Hands-on experience shipping with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot.
- Experience designing and delivering versioned APIs, SDKs, or client libraries.
- Proficiency building web interfaces with React or a similar framework.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong intuition for designing APIs that are easy for humans and agents to use correctly.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building or consuming MCP servers or designing APIs for agent use cases.
- Familiarity with agentic frameworks and patterns for tool use, orchestration, and agent-to-agent communication.
- Familiarity with a compiled language such as Rust, Go, or Java.
- Experience with large-scale open-source projects.
- Experience developing database or query-engine SDKs.
