About the role
Key Responsibilities
Own the product experience end-to-end — from early concepts and PRDs to polished, shipped features used by real customers in high-stakes, real-time scenarios.
Shape how users interact with AI voice agents, turning complex, technical workflows into clear, intuitive, and human experiences.
Work side-by-side with engineers and founders to define, refine, and ship features, ensuring design intent and quality are preserved all the way to production.
Be the voice of the user — conduct customer interviews, gather feedback, and translate real user pain points into thoughtful design solutions.
Proactively raise the UX bar by identifying friction, inconsistencies, and opportunities across the product, and driving improvements from idea to launch.
Build and evolve Retell’s design system, setting standards for consistency, scalability, and craftsmanship as the product and team grow.
Hold a high bar for craft and quality, sweating the details and refusing to compromise on clarity, usability, or polish.
Influence product direction through design, contributing strong opinions, clear rationale, and taste-driven decisions that shape what we build next.
Requirements
Have 5+ years of experience as a Product Designer working on shipped products.
Have a strong user-centered design background (HCI, design, or equivalent experience).
Have excellent product taste and a strong sense of usability, hierarchy, and visual clarity.
Are detail-oriented and care deeply about polish and consistency.
Enjoy working closely with engineers, PMs, and founders to shape product direction.
Are comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment with ambiguity.
Enjoy owning problems end-to-end rather than working within a narrow design scope.
Care deeply about building products that are easy to use and delightful.
