What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain internal backend frameworks and libraries (API routing, service lifecycle, caching, messaging, error handling)
- Create APIs, service templates, and versioned interfaces for consistent patterns
- Introduce modern patterns like asyncio and streaming data processing
- Design abstractions for authorization, streaming, data governance, event processing
- Embed reliability and observability (tracing, metrics, automated tests)
- Collaborate with Model Infrastructure on GenAI challenges (model inference, streaming APIs, retrieval)
- Integrate with Developer Experience and Infrastructure teams (CI/CD, deployment)
- Gather feedback from product teams and evangelize best practices
What You Have
- 7+ years software engineering experience (post-BS/MS), building scalable backend systems or internal platforms
- Proficiency in Python and backend fundamentals (APIs, data stores, concurrency, distributed systems)
- Experience with web frameworks (Flask/FastAPI), service architectures, clean APIs
- Familiarity with caching (Redis), messaging (Kafka), databases (SQL/NoSQL, Vector DBs)
- Track record of high-quality, tested code (unit/integration testing, static typing, CI)
- Strong problem-solving, passion for developer experience
- Excellent collaboration and communication
- Experience with internal libraries/frameworks (plus)
Compensation Range
$238,000 - $290,000 USD
