Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the company’s legal strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial, regulatory, and data privacy laws, including AI sales restrictions, AML/KYC, potential future CFTC regulation, and GDPR.
- Advise on corporate governance, fundraising, investor relations, and equity and debt financing transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including partnership, vendor, and licensing agreements.
- Counsel product development teams on regulatory compliance and legal risk mitigation.
- Manage risk and crisis response, including litigation, regulatory inquiries, and disputes.
- Lead interactions with regulatory bodies and monitor emerging laws affecting the fintech industry.
- Oversee intellectual property protection, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
- Develop policies, training, and best practices supporting legal and ethical integrity.
- Manage external counsel and legal budgets.
