Responsibilities
- Build full-stack software for UK police custody suites, owning features end-to-end from database migrations to user interfaces.
- Develop workflows spanning GraphQL schemas and React components.
- Investigate production issues using Datadog traces and logs, and deliver fixes.
- Collaborate with teammates to solve state-management and other application problems.
- Build agentic development workflows to automate pull-request reviews and engineering reporting.
- Write database migrations and integration tests for load-related behavior.
- Review pull requests and identify potentially unintended application impacts.
- Participate in biannual hackathons and prototype new ideas.

Requirements
- Professional software engineering experience, or a computer science degree with internship experience for graduate roles.
- Experience with at least part of the stack, including Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or MySQL.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code.
- Clean, maintainable coding practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Authorization to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Ability to complete Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) security clearance up to level 3, if required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Target base annual salary: £30,000–£80,000, plus bonus opportunity, company stock options, and benefits.
