Own the financial and strategic architecture for global compute supply, including pricing, provider diligence, capital allocation, and margin models. Responsibilities

Compute Economics

  • Build and own financial models for compute supply, including per-cluster economics, contract structures, hardware generations, geographies, and providers.
  • Model reserved versus spot tradeoffs, term length, commitment level, hardware generation, provider mix, and geography.
  • Own margin architecture by workload, customer, product, and contract.
  • Model long-term P&L outcomes under multiple demand and pricing scenarios.

Strategic Bets and Capital Allocation

  • Advise leadership on provider commitments, hardware generations, geographic expansion, and scaling decisions.
  • Build financial frameworks for ambiguous strategic questions.
  • Own long-range planning, scenario models, and capital allocation across compute, headcount, and product investment.

Provider Engagement and Diligence

  • Engage with neoclouds, hyperscalers, and emerging providers on economic and technical diligence.
  • Lead the financial side of supply qualification and commercial negotiations.
  • Translate technical performance characteristics into commercial recommendations.
  • Build repeatable analytical processes for evaluating new global supply-market entrants.

Market Intelligence

  • Track pricing, availability, and provider dynamics across major markets.
  • Develop views of provider credibility, pricing, supply constraints, and upcoming capacity.
  • Establish the analytical basis for supply commitments, flexibility, and geographic positioning.

Cross-functional Partnership

  • Partner with Strategic Finance on compute economics and company P&L.
  • Partner with Engineering on technical performance characteristics driving cluster economics.
  • Partner with Sales and Product on consumption-based and hybrid pricing.
  • Build board-ready analyses on supply strategy, capital allocation, and market positioning.

Requirements

  • 4–7+ years in roles combining financial rigor with strategic or operational engagement.
  • Relevant backgrounds may include investment banking, private equity, growth equity, quantitative or strategist roles, infrastructure investing, project finance, structured credit, strategic finance, or business operations.
  • Experience with infrastructure, cloud, semiconductors, technology, AI infrastructure, or compute-intensive companies is valuable.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills; able to build models reflecting how the business operates.
  • Genuine technical curiosity and willingness to develop fluency in GPU architectures, networking, cluster performance, and compute economics.
  • Strong commercial and strategic judgment.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with vendors, partners, and senior provider-company counterparts.
  • Able to build rigorous models, brief leadership, and run diligence with senior stakeholders.
  • High ownership and initiative.
  • AI-native working style using LLMs, automation, and programmatic tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience modeling data center, colocation, cloud, or power and energy economics.
  • Background covering AI infrastructure, cloud providers, semiconductors, or compute marketplaces.
  • Experience with cluster benchmarking, training or inference workload economics, or compute marketplaces.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Cash compensation range: $200,000–$300,000, plus meaningful equity.
