People Associate
The People Associate will support recruiting coordination, onboarding, people operations, office management, and employee events while helping scale the San Francisco workplace. The role requires at least three years of relevant experience, meticulous execution, and familiarity with people-team systems and workflows.

Responsibilities
- Anchor the San Francisco office as the company expands its Bay Area presence, including lunches, in-person events, physical-space operations, snacks, supplies, vendors, enhancements, equipment, and potential office moves.
- Drive candidate scheduling and communication across interview loops and stages in Ashby; conduct initial screens for select roles alongside the Lead Recruiter.
- Manage the candidate-to-new-hire transition, including offer letters, background checks, equipment provisioning, systems access, first-day plans, and new-hire experience initiatives.
- Support HR processes by maintaining HRIS data hygiene, preparing for audits, processing compensation-cycle changes, and backing up payroll and benefits administration.
- Organize cultural touchpoints, in-person social gatherings, virtual experiences, team events, and the annual company retreat.
Requirements
- 3+ years of directly relevant experience, including recruiting coordination and people operations.
- Hands-on experience with recruiting scheduling, ATS management, candidate communication, payroll or benefits, HRIS administration, and office management.
- Meticulous process execution, particularly for onboarding, offboarding, payroll, and benefits workflows.
- Experience designing thoughtful virtual and in-person events.
- AI tools integrated into daily workflows.
- Familiarity with Ashby, Eddy, Notion, Claude Cowork, Checkr, eVerify, JumpCloud, Allwhere, Employee Navigator, Tilt, Windmill, KnowBe4, Google, and Slack.
- Onsite or hybrid work in San Francisco, with at least two days per week in the office.
Nice-to-haves
- Startup experience, ideally in fintech.
- Direct experience with payroll processing, compensation administration, or benefits workflows.
- Experience establishing a new office or coordinating an office move.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $101,000–$111,100.
- In-office employees have access to meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays, regular happy hours, game nights, and other in-person events.
- Employees have opportunities to attend offsites, events, hackathons, and the annual three-day company retreat.
