Revenue Accountant Lead

Own core revenue accounting and Order to Cash processes for a high-growth SaaS business, including deferred revenue, credit-loss allowances, contract modifications, professional services, and emerging AI consumption models. Requires 7+ years of revenue accounting experience and deep ASC 606 expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own the deferred revenue process end to end, including deferred revenue, contract asset, and unbilled receivables schedules, rollforwards, reconciliations, and supporting analytics.
  • Own the allowance for credit losses methodology, audit deliverables, and supporting memo; partner with Collections and Sales on customer risk.
  • Perform technical analysis for contract modifications under ASC 606; lead standalone selling price analyses and complex revenue arrangement memos.
  • Establish revenue recognition positions for consumption-based arrangements and build tracking and reporting processes for AI partnership fees.
  • Own professional services revenue, including fixed-fee and time-and-materials arrangements, and optimize related processes with Services Operations.
  • Prepare and present financial results in quarterly close presentations.
  • Own revenue and deferred revenue flux analyses across all streams and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Support special projects involving new product and pricing launches, entity or geographic expansion, and evolving AI-driven business models.
  • Manage assigned annual audit areas, including PBC deliverables, auditor inquiries, and issue resolution.
  • Coach revenue accounting team members and review their work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 7+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience in a SaaS or software company.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with ASC 606 and complex, non-standard arrangements.
  • Experience owning an allowance for credit losses or similar reserve process, including audit support.
  • High-growth SaaS experience covering subscription and professional services revenue.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, and financial statements.
  • Experience owning SOX-compliant processes and driving automation.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management.
  • Advanced Excel and data skills.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and influencing skills; able to work independently under close deadlines.

Nice to Have

  • CPA certification.
  • Public accounting or public company experience.
  • IPO or first-year SOX experience.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ.

Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $133,280–$180,320.
