Lead the technical direction and development of Rippling’s Data Catalog infrastructure, building internet-scale distributed systems and AI-enabled data discovery capabilities. The role requires 8+ years of software development experience, strong systems expertise, and the ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Lead the technical roadmap for the Data Catalog team.
- Design, develop, and maintain internet-scale, highly distributed systems and scalable services.
- Prototype with emerging AI tools and develop primitives that democratize development.
- Address growing scale and load by improving efficiency and reducing unnecessary work.
- Own infrastructure and operate complex distributed systems powering Rippling products.
- Act as a technical lead, partnering with Platform Tech Leads and Engineering Managers to evolve core infrastructure.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience, preferably in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, architectures, and design patterns.
- Proven experience building large-scale applications, APIs, and developer tools.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical partners.
- Product-focused mindset and passion for improving customer experience.
