The General Counsel will lead strategic legal counsel across corporate, transactional, technology, employment, intellectual property, and cross-border matters for a high-growth financial services company. The role requires a JD, 20+ years of legal experience, and an active bar license.

Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day strategic legal counsel to executives and management on organizational and corporate developments, technology-related matters, and applicable U.S. state, federal, and global legal requirements.
- Advise on corporate organizational matters and strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other corporate initiatives.
- Counsel the company on compensation, employment, workforce, immigration, trade, and other cross-border legal matters.
- Partner with executive management as a trusted legal and strategic advisor, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Lead commercial, technology, intellectual property, and related legal matters with the Associate General Counsel and other in-house legal resources.
- Provide senior-level legal judgment for corporate negotiations, commercial matters, and significant business and legal risks.
- Guide the legal team in coordinating internal resources and external counsel and allocating legal work effectively.
- Oversee additional general corporate legal matters as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- At least 20 years of relevant legal experience.
- Active license to practice law and good standing with the applicable bar association.
- Comfort using evolving technologies in business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, relationship-building ability, active listening, and stakeholder influence across varied audiences.
