IP Counsel, Trademarks & Domains
IP Counsel will lead global trademark and domain clearance, prosecution, portfolio strategy, enforcement, and brand protection for a rapidly evolving AI company. The role requires substantial hands-on trademark expertise, U.S. bar admission, and preferably 10+ years of practice with technology in-house experience.

Responsibilities
- Run trademark clearance for new model, product, and feature names, providing risk-rated recommendations.
- Manage global trademark prosecution and portfolio strategy, including filing strategy, office actions, and portfolio maintenance.
- Lead trademark and domain enforcement, including infringement assessment, enforcement mechanisms, outside counsel coordination, and resolution.
- Oversee online brand protection programs addressing infringements and impersonations.
- Manage domain portfolio strategy, including acquisitions, disputes, and recovery.
- Respond to inbound trademark demands and support trademark-related litigation.
- Counsel marketing, product, and go-to-market teams on brand usage and naming.
- Build playbooks and processes for a global brand protection practice.
Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- Substantial trademark and domain experience across clearance, prosecution, portfolio management, and enforcement.
- Hands-on experience running clearances, shaping filing strategies, and making enforcement decisions.
- Experience managing global trademark and domain portfolios, including UDRP proceedings and online enforcement.
- Sound judgment and strong communication skills with legal and non-legal stakeholders.
- Collaborative approach with legal colleagues, outside counsel, and business partners.

- 10+ years of trademark and domain practice.
- Prior in-house experience at a technology company.
- Experience protecting brands in AI or rapidly evolving technology fields.
- Experience building or scaling high-volume enforcement and takedown programs.
- Experience navigating disputes with commercial, community, or publicity dimensions.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual salary range: $335,000–$385,000 USD.
