Enterprise Sales VP, Education
This individual-contributor executive sales role expands Garner’s footprint among large education employers through complex, RFP-driven health-benefits sales cycles. The position requires 7+ years of health-benefits sales experience, strong education-sector relationships and procurement expertise, and enterprise selling experience.

Responsibilities
- Own direct sales cycles and sales objectives across a named national book of education employers.
- Prospect, manage the pipeline, and prepare and measure sales quotas.
- Run RFP-driven pursuits end to end, including procurement compliance, consultant management, finalist presentations, and school board, regents, and pool committee approvals.
- Maintain market and competitor knowledge to communicate Garner’s value proposition.
- Develop strategic relationships with education benefits consultants, pool administrators, consortium executives, and district and university benefits directors.
- Influence buying decisions through long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Develop sales processes, playbooks, KPIs, and collateral, and execute sales strategies for long-term success.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of deep sales experience focused on health benefits through brokers, consultants, and insurers.
- 5+ years selling to education employers, such as K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, or education pools, strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of education procurement mechanics, including RFP cycles, school board and regents approvals, pool/JPA/consortium governance, VEBA structures, and academic-calendar and state-funding timelines.
- Existing relationships within the education benefits consultant ecosystem, pool administrators, and district and university benefits directors.
- 3+ years of experience selling to large enterprise clients.
- Data literacy and the ability to turn complex datasets into actionable insights.
- Experience creating sales processes and executing sales strategies.
- Willingness to use AI tools and be accountable for measurable outcomes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Target total compensation, including base and bonus: $425,000–$475,000.
