Responsibilities
- Lead the Platform engineering team, including 1:1s, performance reviews, career development, hiring, and daily people management.
- Own delivery quality and ensure work meets the definition of done before release.
- Scope projects, manage execution, and deliver work on schedule.
- Allocate work, remove blockers, and provide technical context and direction.
- Set technical guidance and code-review standards, translating core architecture into team practices.
- Participate in the technical leadership group and communicate operational and project insights to leadership.
- Plan and manage the on-call rotation, including staffing, publication, adherence, and incident follow-up.
- Remain hands-on as a major contributor to platform projects.
Requirements
- Experience leading or mentoring infrastructure or platform engineering teams, with the judgment to own technical decisions and outcomes.
- 5+ years building and operating infrastructure, especially distributed systems at scale.
- 5+ years of Linux experience, including kernel, networking, storage, namespaces, and containers.
- Hands-on experience with cloud operations, Terraform or infrastructure as code, and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or Nomad.
- Strong standards for delivery, reliability, and engineering quality.
- Detail-oriented with strong engineering design judgment.
- Comfortable working closely with users on a developer-tools product.
- Proactive and willing to take ownership of product areas.
