Founding GTM Engineer

Founding GTM Engineer building revenue-critical systems and AI tools to optimize sales, marketing, and outbound motions for Hearth's AI platform serving home improvement contractors. Requires proven ability to identify levers, ship fast with AI assistance, measure impact on metrics like conversion/revenue, and collaborate with sales/marketing leadership in a hybrid NYC role.

About the job

What You'll Build

You build the systems that run Hearth's go-to-market: the whole engine, one motion at a time. You find the lever that moves the number and ship the system that pulls it, fast. Examples include:

  • Inbound conversion (routing and next-best-action on lead-scoring model) – needs scale and rethink.
  • Outbound motion.
  • Marketing automation and testing.
  • Measurement model that directs spend to what converts.
  • Rep-facing AI that handles research and follow-up.
  • Backbone data and integrations connecting CRM, enrichment, and scoring (Salesforce, HubSpot, Redshift, Clay).

You decide where the leverage is, then build it (routing changes, new scoring layers, AI agents). You co-own success metrics like revenue and headcount with Sales and Marketing leadership. As the founding GTM Engineer, you rebuild the baseline, define AI-native go-to-market, prove the model on one motion, then hire under you.

What You've Done

  • Moved a number and knew why: decided which lever mattered, built the solution, and can quote the specific result (e.g., segment from X% to Y% over Z weeks) with measurement. Extra credit for deciding not to build something.
  • Ship yourself using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code) for integrations, workflows, agents. Use Python and SQL where helpful. Show shipped work.
  • Harden 80% of work into something the floor relies on, collaborating with Engineering, and design tests proving causation.

Not a fit if main output has been configuring/documenting others' systems or if you need heavy management.

Who You Are

  • Think in revenue, not features; identify high-impact funnel fixes.
  • Ship in days, not quarters; prefer building and learning over perfect specs.
  • Grow with tools; reinvent workflow with new AI capabilities.
  • Comfortable rebuilding tangled systems (Salesforce, HubSpot); enjoy the mess.
  • Get things done through people; co-drive with sales/marketing leaders and earn trust.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay
  • Stock options
  • Medical, dental, and vision options
  • 401(k)
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Parental Leave Program
  • Pet Insurance
  • Free Employee Assistance Program
  • Mission-driven culture with learning opportunities
