Manager, Procurement Product Activation

Lead a team of Procurement Activation Specialists to deliver fast, repeatable implementations of Ramp's AI-powered procure-to-pay platform for mid-market customers. Build the activation playbook from scratch, influence product direction from field patterns, and serve as the central procurement authority across Sales, CS, and Product.

About the job

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Hire, onboard, and develop Procurement Activation Specialists; own their ramp from week one to full independence
  • Run structured 1:1s and coaching that moves ICs from reactive to proactive, and from execution to insight
  • Build a team culture where CSMs, AMs, and AEs come to your team first before things get complicated

Define & Lead Strategy

  • Build the Procurement Activation playbook from the ground up: define excellent discovery, configuration, customer education, and go-live
  • Turn implementation patterns into structured product feedback for Engineering and Product
  • Partner with Sales, AM, and CSM leadership to define handoff, scoping, and resourcing standards for procurement deals

Operationalize & Scale

  • Build implementation processes to handle growth as new capabilities ship and customer base expands
  • Spot systemic blockers (product gaps, handoff failures, coverage issues) and drive cross-functional resolution
  • Represent procurement activation in GTM planning, headcount conversations, and roadmap discussions

Requirements

  • Deep procurement expertise in procure-to-pay workflows, approval structures, ERP integrations, and vendor management (enough to advise Controllers or VPs of Finance on first call)
  • Real people development experience: managed or closely mentored ICs with specific examples of improving skills or confidence
  • Cross-functional influence without authority: align with non-reports (AE, CSM, AM, VP levels) and hold position on competing priorities
  • Built something from scratch (playbook, training program, escalation framework) that others adopted and outlasted your involvement
  • Precise written and verbal communication: explain workflows to Controllers and brief VPs on the same day with equal credibility

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in customer-facing implementation or success at a procurement software company (Coupa, Zip, Procurify, Stampli, Ivalua, or similar) or in Procurement operations
  • Familiarity with AP automation, ERP integrations (NetSuite, QuickBooks), or invoice-to-payment workflows
  • Background in CS, implementation, or solutions consulting in B2B SaaS
