Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy for the domains covered, taking a broad view beyond immediate roadmaps and individual teams.
- Execute ambiguous, complex, and technically challenging projects, overcoming obstacles and scaling impact through collaboration and influence.
- Mentor and teach engineers across the company.
- Review technical designs, proposals, and code.
- Model strong ownership, technical design, implementation, and participation in company culture.
- Shape architecture and drive process improvements to improve engineering efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Demonstrated broad influence and deep impact in previous roles, such as creating leverage across an EPD organization, building foundational systems, launching products or businesses, or applying deep frontend and UX expertise.
- Experience working at startups and scale-ups and building systems at continually increasing scale.
- Excellent product intuition and the ability to assess how technical decisions affect end-user product experiences and enable new functionality.
- Strong empathetic communication skills, including explaining nuanced ideas clearly to different audiences.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, and the listed engineering infrastructure and development tools.
