About the role
Responsibilities
Lead user research sessions—including discovery interviews, contextual inquiries, and usability tests—to deeply understand user workflows, uncover pain points, and validate solutions through prototype feedback.
Rapidly iterate on solutions through low- and high-fidelity prototypes, using each round to de-risk assumptions and sharpen the problem definition.
Partner with engineers and product managers from day zero to shape the direction of new initiatives, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
Frame ambiguous problems into clear design opportunities, defining success criteria alongside product and engineering partners.
Actively participate in design critique—soliciting feedback early, offering thoughtful critique to peers, and raising the quality bar across the team.
Partner closely with engineers throughout implementation to ensure the shipped experience matches design intent, and make pragmatic trade-offs when it doesn't.
Contribute to and evolve the design system alongside other designers—proposing new patterns, refining existing components, and championing consistency across surfaces.
Communicate design decisions clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, grounding recommendations in user research, data, and craft principles.
Own the end-to-end quality of your work, from initial research through post-launch measurement and iteration.
