Complex Claims Manager
Manages complex and large-loss insurance claims, coordinating insurers, TPAs, legal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to mitigate risk and achieve appropriate resolutions. Requires 10+ years of claims coverage and litigation experience, strong policy and regulatory knowledge, and advanced negotiation and analytical skills.

Responsibilities
- Identify, investigate, and manage risk mitigation strategies for complex and large-loss claims.
- Manage insurers, third-party administrators, brokers, outside counsel, and other partners to drive accountability, prioritization, and timely resolution.
- Lead large-loss claim reviews with insurers and monitor claim handling, coverage or relationship issues, material reserve changes, policy limits, and notification requirements.
- Create resolution plans and drive carriers and TPAs toward appropriate claim outcomes.
- Partner with Legal, Global Crisis Management, Trust, Safety, Policy, Privacy, Product Management, Finance, Data Science, and Community Support on complex claim resolution and emerging risks.
- Report monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews for the assigned area.
- Mentor and upskill claims specialists, simplifying complex claims, data, business, and process information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to claims handling.
- Provide on-call and occasional weekend or evening support.
Requirements
- 10+ years of insurance claims coverage and litigation experience, emphasizing liability and property.
- Strong insurance policy, claims, legal, regulatory, and risk knowledge.
- Experience resolving complex disputes with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, judgment, and influencing skills.
- Experience collaborating across disciplines, regions, and seniority levels.
- Knowledge of casualty and property insurance policies and claims preferred.
- Knowledge of legal and claims complexities in North America, LATAM, and EMEA preferred.
- Understanding of captive insurance and FINC claims preferred.
- BA/BS degree in a business or technical field preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: 83,000–98,000 CAD.
- Remote-eligible position for employees living in eligible Canadian provinces; occasional office or offsite attendance may be required.
