Staff Engineer
Build and lead large-scale distributed backend features for MongoDB Atlas and Atlas Data Federation & Archiving. The role requires 10+ years of software development experience, compiled-language expertise, cloud-provider experience, and production ownership.

Responsibilities
- Build and design new features for MongoDB Atlas and Atlas Data Federation & Archiving.
- Contribute to and lead complex technical projects.
- Work with stakeholders throughout MongoDB to build the roadmap and product offerings.
- Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Collaborate with team members to develop the codebase, best practices, and design principles.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful work environment.
Requirements
- At least 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in a compiled language such as Go, Java, or C#.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider technology: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience leading the launch of a new module and maintaining it in production.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Curiosity, collaboration, and motivation to solve challenging problems.
Success Measures
- 3 months: Ship code into production and collaborate with the team to solve challenging problems.
- 6 months: Contribute to a large project and join the on-call rotation.
- 12 months: Design new features, lead development work, and become a go-to expert on parts of the system.
