Senior Category Manager, Strategic Sourcing
Owns the strategic electrical sourcing category across Crusoe sites, covering supplier qualification, negotiations, compliance, risk mitigation, and performance management. Responsibilities
- Own the electrical spend category, including switchgear, PDC components, cable/wire, and specialized electrical hardware, at the strategic level.
- Maintain market and spend intelligence on supplier capabilities, pricing benchmarks, lead times, and capacity constraints.
- Qualify and manage the electrical Approved Vendor List (AVL), including NEC/UL compliance verification and documented qualification rationale.
- Apply category segmentation frameworks such as the Kraljic Matrix and develop a 12–24 month category roadmap with dual-sourcing options.
- Structure and negotiate MSAs, pricing, terms, and SLAs; redline delivery, force majeure, liability, and other commercial clauses.
- Proactively mitigate single-source exposure and lead-time risks through a live category risk register.
- Establish quarterly supplier scorecards covering on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost trends.
- Align commercial frameworks with Material Planners, PO Specialists, and other operational teams.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of dedicated experience in strategic sourcing or category management focused on electrical components, switchgear, or industrial electrical equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Working familiarity with NEC/UL compliance requirements and electrical component specifications.
- Hands-on experience reading, structuring, and redlining complex commercial terms and contracts.
- Proficiency with supplier qualification frameworks, RFI/RFQ processes, scorecarding, and category segmentation methodologies.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Acumatica or similar ERP platforms.
- Experience in high-power compute, data center infrastructure, or energy/industrial equipment environments.
- Experience building dual-sourcing strategies for long-lead industrial hardware.

- Compensation range: $120,000–$145,000.
