Responsibilities
- Define, communicate, and execute the technical vision and strategy for the Enterprise Fulfillment team.
- Own the engineering roadmap and oversee technical and product decisions that deliver business outcomes while maintaining reliability and scale.
- Establish production-service best practices and enterprise-grade engineering standards.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10+ engineers building grocery-picking experiences for retailers and shoppers.
- Drive recruiting and hiring while partnering across R&D, business development, and retailer stakeholder teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of engineering management experience, including leadership of teams of 15+ engineers.
- Track record delivering complex consumer-facing or enterprise-facing products.
- Experience creating strategic engineering roadmaps and translating product strategy into technical direction.
- Senior- or staff-equivalent individual contributor background or close oversight of that work.
- Strong experience staffing, mentoring, developing, and performance-managing engineering teams.
- Experience collaborating with product managers, engineering leaders, and senior individual contributors.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Nice to Have
- Experience leading multiple teams or managing engineering managers.
- Experience scaling a team from its early stages to 10+ engineers.
- Experience managing teams responsible for mission-critical, highly available business systems.
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise-grade software systems at scale.
- Technical familiarity with Ruby on Rails, Go, Swift, or Kotlin.
Compensation
- Base pay range: $221,000–$279,500 USD, depending on permanent work location.
- Eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
