Responsibilities
- Own multimodal operations: Lead execution across ocean, air, trucking, and customs brokerage for the Guadalajara office, ensuring service levels, compliance, and efficiency across all modes.
- Leverage local market relationships: Maintain and grow relationships with major ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, and customs brokerage firms in Mexico to improve rates, capacity, and service reliability.
- Drive customer success: Ensure an outstanding customer experience by maintaining service quality, resolving issues, and building long-term client relationships.
- Serve as local site leader: Represent Flexport in Guadalajara with vendors, landlords, and partners, and serve as the go-to leader for the office.
- Build and scale the office: Help shape team structure and ways of working as headcount and volume increase.
- Champion automation and AI: Identify manual, repetitive work across Mexico operations and drive adoption of automation and AI-powered tools in collaboration with global automation initiatives.
- Manage office administration: Own the administrative tasks required to run the office, including vendor coordination and office logistics.
- Drive operational excellence: Identify and resolve bottlenecks across transportation modes while working cross-functionally with global operations teams.
Requirements
- 7+ years of leadership experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Deep, hands-on experience managing multimodal freight operations in Mexico, including ocean, air, trucking, and customs brokerage.
- Existing relationships with major ocean carriers, airlines, trucking companies, and customs brokerage firms operating in Mexico.
- An automation-oriented mindset and enthusiasm for using AI-driven tools to improve operations.
- Ability to represent the company credibly with external partners and serve as an internal office leader.
- Bilingual Spanish and English proficiency.
