Responsibilities
- Own and operate the business-process side of the SOX compliance program, including control scoping, documentation, rationalization, testing, and deficiency remediation in alignment with SOX 404 requirements and external-auditor reliance strategies.
- Lead risk assessments across procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory management, and revenue lifecycle processes, including ASC 606-related controls.
- Design, validate, and test internal controls over financial reporting for operating effectiveness.
- Identify, evaluate, and remediate control deficiencies with process owners across accounting, operations, procurement, legal, finance, Revenue Operations, and engineering.
- Embed controls into system and process workflows and identify technology solutions to automate manual processes and improve control effectiveness.
- Prepare and present SOX status updates, risk assessments, and remediation progress to steering, audit, disclosure, and external-audit committees.
- Advise process owners on governance, process optimization, and risk transformation across finance and revenue systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or related fields, focused on business processes.
- Strong understanding of SOX 404 requirements, the COSO framework, and US GAAP.
- Experience designing and testing controls for operational and financial processes, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory management, and financial reporting.
- Experience designing control frameworks within finance systems beyond traditional audit activities.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Nice-to-haves
- CPA, CIA, or equivalent certification.
- Master's degree in business administration, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience at a publicly traded company or Big Four accounting firm.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, and Workday; revenue and billing platforms such as Salesforce CPQ/Billing and Stripe; and custom revenue systems.
- Experience evaluating and implementing process improvements and automation solutions.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-growth, or complex organizations.
- Strong revenue-accounting experience under ASC 606, including subscription, multi-element arrangements, and contra-revenue accounting.
- Experience with advertising or media revenue models, variable consideration, performance-based fees, and attribution complexity.
- Experience with revenue-related M&A accounting, purchase price allocations, deferred-revenue haircuts, and post-acquisition revenue-recognition harmonization.
Compensation
- ATS salary range: $155,000-$195,500 USD annually.
- The role is eligible for a new-hire equity grant and annual refresh grants.
- Posted base-pay ranges vary by permanent work location: $185,000-$195,500 for CA, NY, CT, and NJ; $177,000-$187,000 for WA; $170,000-$179,500 for OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, and HI; and $155,000-$163,500 for all other states.
