Software Engineer I

Build and deploy end-to-end product features for a large-scale legal technology platform while collaborating across engineering, product, design, and operations. The role is suited to an early-career engineer with foundational computer science knowledge and project experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build new product features end-to-end, from architectural design through implementation and deployment.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Developer Operations to design, build, and launch functionality.
  • Debug complex issues across a large-scale codebase to maintain and improve platform reliability.
  • Contribute to system documentation and team knowledge-sharing.
  • Work with an onboarding mentor to learn platform architecture, development practices, and product domains.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent coursework.
  • Proficiency in a compiled language such as C++ or Java and a scripting language such as Python or JavaScript.
  • Strong foundation in computer science concepts, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Experience building and delivering software through coursework, personal projects, or internships.
  • Strong strategic thinking and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems and environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Git or a similar version control system.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Campus leadership experience or participation in a technical research program.
