SDE III - Whatsapp Voice

Build and scale full-stack systems for HighLevel’s voice platform, focusing on distributed backend services, frontend performance, observability, security, and reliability. The role requires at least four years of software engineering experience and strong expertise across modern backend and frontend technologies.

Responsibilities

Own and contribute to architecture and development across products, driving technical excellence in frontend and backend systems.
Develop and optimize backend API services using test-driven development, advanced caching, and messaging for reliability and scalability.
Deliver high-quality frontend experiences using modern frameworks, component-based architectures, and state management.
Integrate and support observability, logging, and monitoring for platform reliability and rapid incident response.
Apply application security and compliance best practices across frontend, backend, and API layers, including authentication, authorization, rate limiting, and OWASP guidance.
Use LLMs and AI tools to write, refactor, test, and debug code efficiently, with reliability guardrails.
Participate in design reviews, technical deep dives, and on-call rotations.

Requirements

4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience building and scaling robust backend systems and high-performance frontend applications.
Strong backend engineering and distributed-systems design skills, including API development, data modeling, and systems architecture.
Experience with Golang, Java, Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
Experience with backend performance optimization, caching strategies, and event-driven architectures such as Redis, Kafka, and Pub/Sub.
Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, and Angular, advanced UI engineering patterns, and Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.
Experience with complex state-management libraries such as Redux, Vuex, and MobX.
Experience optimizing frontend performance and web vitals at scale, including server-side rendering, edge, or hybrid rendering architectures.
Familiarity with frontend and backend observability, including monitoring, tracing, error tracking, and performance profiling in production.
Understanding of security best practices across the full stack, including authentication, authorization, access control, secure data flow, and privacy compliance.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to drive complex initiatives, lead technical discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
