Responsibilities
- Run day-to-day accounting across five group entities, including month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, supporting schedules, statutory reporting, management reporting, variance analysis, and investigation of unusual items.
- Perform group consolidation, reconcile intercompany balances, and manage intercompany billing.
- Own revenue recognition across multiple billing platforms and monitor receivables, including impairment assessments.
- Develop procedures and configure billing platforms for writing off uncollectible receivables.
- Process recurring payments for multiple entities, review and upload vendor invoices, resolve approval and banking issues, and address failed payments and bank queries.
- Manage corporate tax, withholding tax, DTAA treatment, VAT/GST, and US state sales tax compliance across jurisdictions.
- Coordinate tax registrations, deregistrations, recurring filings, exemption certificates, franchise taxes, business licences, and property tax matters.
- Support tax, VAT/GST, financial statement, external auditor, and tax authority audits.
- Supervise and review a junior accountant's work.
- Advise internal teams and respond to customer accounting, VAT/GST, and withholding tax questions.
- Improve finance processes, controls, and efficiency using automation and AI tooling.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Degree or professional qualification in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with group consolidation and intercompany accounting.
- Experience with corporate tax, withholding tax, and VAT/GST compliance in multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting external auditor and tax authority audits.
- SaaS revenue recognition and receivables experience across multiple billing platforms.
- Experience supervising junior accounting staff and working with external tax providers.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero or a comparable accounting platform.
- Interest in using AI and automation to improve workflows and efficiency.
