What you’ll do at Figma
- Partner directly with Figma's Product, Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to provide practical legal guidance on product development and go-to-market strategy
- Review product user experiences, disclosures, and external marketing and communications materials to mitigate legal risk while helping our teams achieve their goals
- Partner with cross-functional Legal teams (Commercial, IP, Regulatory) to ensure cohesive strategy and support
- Advise on legal issues relating to data protection, privacy, consumer protection, IP, and evolving AI-specific laws and regulations
- Develop and build out the processes, resources, and scaffolding needed to help our team scale our legal guidance as our product releases accelerate
- Identify and communicate emerging legal risks early in the product development cycle to enable faster, more confident decision-making
Requirements
- In-depth experience counseling on legal issues relating to technology, IP, privacy, data protection, consumer protection, and AI
- Proven ownership mentality, including hands-on engagement with product details, process-building from scratch, and independent prioritization
- A business-first, solution-oriented approach, including comfort making independent decisions and taking smart risks with imperfect information
- Demonstrated interest in AI and experience advising on AI-powered products or platforms
- 8+ years of legal experience
- J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) and U.S.-qualified

- Experience working in-house at a SaaS company
- Familiarity with using and advising on ML/AI products
- A technical background
