Responsibilities
- Partner with Corporate/New Business sales teams as the technical and domain expert for customer-facing sales engagements.
- Understand customer challenges and business issues, and deliver tailored product demonstrations.
- Answer product, feature, and technical questions from customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Plan and deliver proofs of concept for complex customer use cases.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on customer solutions.
- Provide product enhancement feedback to Product Management.
- Share reusable assets and best practices with other Solutions Engineers.
- Maintain competitive and market differentiation knowledge.
- Support executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on product solutions or competitive knowledge when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
- Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
- Experience with lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and provisioning/deprovisioning.
- Hands-on development experience in web, mobile, backend, or IP-based real-time communications.
- Experience with REST APIs, API gateways, and SDKs.
- Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms.
- Understanding of application security concerns, including password hashing, SSL/TLS, encryption at rest, XSS, and XSRF.
- Customer-facing experience and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong presentation, communication, territory management, and organizational skills.
- Experience creating user journey flows and complex architecture diagrams.
- Typically 25% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field.
- Experience with Auth0, Auth0 FGA, or OpenFGA.
- Experience with generative AI or LLM technologies, such as LangChain, GenKit, or LlamaIndex.
- Experience integrating with microservices, data lakes, or customer data platforms.
- Experience developing ReBAC or fine-grained authorization models.
Compensation
- Annual on-target compensation of $160,000–$220,000 USD for candidates located in California excluding the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and Washington.
- Compensation includes base salary and incentive compensation; equity and benefits may also be available.
