Leads the data platform organization, owning architecture, reliability, tooling, and scalability across ingestion, transformation, and trusted data models. The role requires 10+ years of data experience, management expertise, and hands-on knowledge of modern data platforms.

Responsibilities
- Lead, hire, and develop a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists.
- Own the architecture and roadmap for the data platform, from ingestion through the modeled layer supporting company reporting and analysis.
- Establish standards for data modeling, testing, freshness SLAs, incident response, and dataset ownership.
- Partner with engineering on instrumentation and on-chain data ingestion.
- Prioritize platform work with analytics leadership and business stakeholders.
- Make build-versus-buy and tooling decisions across orchestration, transformation, warehousing, and BI.
- Own platform cost and performance.
- Anticipate scalability constraints as data volume and product scope grow.
- Establish planning, on-call, review, and documentation practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science, including 4+ years of management experience.
- Experience leading a multidisciplinary data team comprising engineers and scientists.
- Strong technical foundation in data models, architecture proposals, and query plans.
- Production experience with the modern data stack, including orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Spark; cloud warehouses such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse; and AWS or GCP.
- Track record of improving data quality and reliability.
- Ability to prioritize across competing stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build and hire a team.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with frequently changing business logic.
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with on-chain data ingestion or blockchain infrastructure.
- Experience supporting finance or regulatory reporting.
- Experience in fintech, crypto, prediction markets, or other data-intensive financial products.
