AI-Native Software Engineer - MDaaS
Build and operate cloud-native back-end services for a Kubernetes-based security platform, while helping establish AI-assisted development workflows and automated testing. Responsibilities
- Build and ship production back-end services using AI-assisted and agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor.
- Build and operate the team’s AI software development lifecycle, including agent configurations, prompt and context templates, MCP integrations, and guardrails.
- Develop automated unit, API, end-to-end, and load tests in cloud-managed services environments, including AI-assisted test generation and review.
- Contribute to an agile Scrum team and continuous improvement.
- Document and communicate development and testing issues and help resolve them.
- Document software changes and AI workflows and prompts for engineers, QA, and documentation specialists.
- Develop infrastructure as code for reliable, automated application deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience shipping code with AI-assisted or agentic development tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment and learn new languages and AI tools quickly.
- Back-end development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
- Experience with Node.js design patterns and best practices.
- Experience with logging and tracing platforms such as Kibana or Datadog.
- Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud provider.
- Experience building or operating large-scale cloud services and microservice architectures.
- Experience with Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Understanding of performance, security, user interactions, algorithms, and data structures in complex systems.
- Practical experience with AI-assisted software development, including reviewing, validating, and taking responsibility for AI-generated code.
Nice to Have
- Cybersecurity industry experience.
- Experience protecting information in compliance with NIST or HIPAA.
- Experience designing and operating AI workflows, including Claude Code, MCP servers, custom agents or skills, LangChain, AutoGen, or AI-integrated CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of prompt and context engineering, model-output evaluation, and cost, latency, and quality trade-offs across models.
