The Opportunity
Datadog’s Staff Engineers are technical leaders building solutions for next five years of growth. They deliver industry-leading systems in data visualization, virtual runtime profiling, and planet-scale streaming; lead design and architectural problems; and improve company-wide standards.
Examples of projects: designing new data storage engine (hundreds of millions records/second), leading new products like synthetics or profiling, rebuilding services for massive scale.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 4+ years of technical leadership experience (manager or technical leader)
- Led design and delivery of industry-leading systems with deep expertise or broad impact
You will
- Be technical owner of critical architecture
- Own delivery of systems from beginning-to-end at full scale
- Dive deep into performance, invent efficient approaches at scale
Bonus
- Excited about leveraging AI tools for coding, problem-solving, and building (or eager to learn)
Compensation: $234,000—$300,000 USD yearly, plus equity, variable compensation, comprehensive benefits (healthcare, dental, 401(k) match, PTO, fitness, ESPP). Actual based on skills, qualifications, experience.
