Product Design Lead, HRIS
Leads end-to-end product design for Rippling’s HRIS platform, creating AI-first workflows for employees and HR leaders. The role requires 8+ years of complex product design experience, strong interaction and visual craft, customer focus, and close collaboration with Product and Engineering.

Responsibilities
- Define long-term and AI-first strategies within the HRIS portfolio.
- Design new 0-to-1 experiences, improve and expand existing experiences, and execute tactical deliverables.
- Design experiences for employees and HR leaders, balancing ease of use with control, compliance, and visibility at scale.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to make high-velocity decisions, ship with urgency, and advocate for customers.
- Partner with Product Research, support research projects, and apply insights to design work.
- Champion a consumer-grade quality bar and mentor designers in systems thinking, interaction design, and visual polish.
- Work with other designers to develop and expand the design system.
Requirements
- 8+ years of end-to-end product design experience shipping complex, high-impact products from concept through launch and iteration.
- Portfolio demonstrating the ability to turn ambiguous problems into simple, intuitive workflows, particularly in complex domains.
- Active use of LLMs such as Claude or ChatGPT in the design workflow.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted prototyping tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Strong interaction and visual design skills, including polished work across edge cases and states and clear, build-ready specifications.
- Strong customer focus and experience identifying pain points and designing solutions for meaningful problems.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including written documentation and presentations.
- Track record of effective collaboration with Product and Engineering while moving quickly and maintaining high quality.
- Ability to operate in fast-moving environments, manage multiple workstreams, unblock dependencies, and own timelines with minimal oversight.
