Software Engineer - Openflow Connectors
Build and scale Java-based connector and data integration systems that replicate data into Snowflake from external sources. The role requires 4+ years of large-scale distributed systems experience, strong SQL and relational database knowledge, and collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop data integration and processing applications that replicate data from relational databases, SaaS platforms, and data streams into Snowflake using change data capture (CDC) patterns.
- Develop and extend a connector platform that standardizes and accelerates connector development by Snowflake and third parties.
- Build platform capabilities such as scheduling services to ensure timely task execution and optimal resource allocation.
- Optimize ingestion performance, troubleshoot customer issues, and secure data transfers from external systems.
- Collaborate across teams and roles, including product managers, customers, architects, founders, and external developers.
- Create design documents and present them to architects and other stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a group of engineers.
- Coordinate synchronous and asynchronous communication to ensure goals are met.
- Translate business requirements into connector application solutions.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industry experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems.
- Experience developing high-performance, scalable software in an internet-scale distributed cloud environment.
- Fluency in Java.
- Willingness to learn, experiment with, and integrate modern AI tools into daily workflows.
- Experience with SQL and a good understanding of relational databases.
- Interest in creating well-designed infrastructure and APIs.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, especially in cloud environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
