Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and ship production features across backend APIs, data pipelines, integrations, case management UI, and customer-facing tools.
- Own features end to end, from requirements and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build scalable REST APIs and microservices orchestrating checks across compliance vendors.
- Develop KYB/AML case-management workflows and business logic.
- Create pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and routing compliance data at scale.
- Integrate third-party identity and compliance APIs and map complex vendor responses.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested, documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and technical architecture discussions.
- Debug production issues, resolve incidents, and improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Build monitoring, alerting, and observability into features.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and customer success teams.
- Mentor or support junior engineers.
Requirements
- 4–7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Python, Go, Java, Node.js, or a similar backend language.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and modern deployment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to take projects from ambiguous requirements through production launch.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and business-to-technical translation skills.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
Nice-to-Haves
- FinTech, RegTech, payments, fraud, or risk-detection experience.
- Knowledge of KYC/KYB, AML, sanctions screening, or adverse media workflows.
- Event-driven architecture and message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
- NoSQL databases or search engines such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch.
- Third-party API integrations and vendor management at scale.
- Frontend development with React or TypeScript.
- ML/AI systems or data-intensive application experience.
- Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure-as-code experience.
