Responsibilities
- Lead full-stack communications for Intercept and Frontier, from strategy and narrative development through publishing stories and content.
- Craft the Intercept narrative and evolve the Frontier story for its next phase.
- Design communications strategies to engage journalists, influencers, policymakers, and Substack writers.
- Write high-quality announcements, social media posts, and opinion pieces.
- Partner with experts and leaders to develop communications strategy, prepare them for media and podcast appearances, and build their profiles with important audiences.
- Build relationships with funders, portfolio companies, and projects to coordinate communications across stakeholders.
Requirements
- Comfort with highly complex and technical subject matter, including fast-moving scientific topics.
- Exceptional writing ability and experience translating dense technical information into compelling, accurate communications.
- High agency and autonomy, including identifying gaps and risks, seeking context, and presenting fully formed ideas for approval.
- Experience with online movements that value first-principles thinking, entrepreneurialism, and speed, such as Silicon Valley, Progress, or Effective Altruism.
- Strong intuition for how and why ideas spread, particularly on the internet.
