Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of 4–6 engineers with strong technical ownership.
- Coach engineers through feedback, career development, calibration, and performance management.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard engineers.
- Stay hands-on through architecture, pair programming, coding, code reviews, and on-call.
- Partner with product and design on requirements, roadmaps, sprint planning, and measurable outcomes.
- Drive system design, code quality, observability, reliability, and scalability.
- Establish sprint planning, OKR planning and reporting, quarterly planning, and retrospectives.
- Set technical direction for systems supporting large-scale clinical and business operations.
- Automate manual workflows and design exception-handling systems while maintaining accuracy and patient trust.
- Simplify billing, claims, eligibility, scheduling, and other healthcare workflows.
- Build reliable, auditable systems that scale through growth and regulatory complexity.
- Partner with operations, strategy, finance, clinical, product, design, data, and analytics teams.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern full-stack technologies.
- 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience.
- Experience hiring engineers and managing performance, promotions, and career development.
- Ability to pair program and contribute directly to implementation.
- Strong product judgment, including writing PRDs, critiquing designs, sizing opportunities, and progressing independently.
- Proficiency with React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, or similar modern stacks.
- Experience shipping and owning production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
- Ability to balance people leadership, technical depth, delivery focus, and communication.
