Responsibilities
- Define quality-engineering scope and procedures, including developing and maintaining automated test scripts with Appium, Kotest, and Cypress.
- Select automation frameworks that enable developers to own testing as part of feature acceptance criteria.
- Design and build agent-driven test automation frameworks that generate, execute, and maintain test cases across web, API, and mobile platforms.
- Develop AI agents for test-case generation using product specifications, user flows, and historical defects.
- Implement self-healing automation to improve test stability and reduce maintenance overhead.
- Test APIs for resiliency, latency, and performance across multiple components.
- Extend test coverage and integrate automated tests into build processes.
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to understand customer needs, application features, and database usage.
- Create reusable components for distribution as libraries and packages across applications.
- Triage issues using logging solutions and determine appropriate unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage.
- Partner with service teams through proof-of-concepts, workshops, training, feedback gathering, and Communities of Practice.
- Implement quality practices in CI/CD pipelines, including determining when, where, and how tests should run.
- Own testing metrics, identify coverage gaps, and report metrics to drive improvements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience as a software development engineer in test.
- Experience building and using mobile and web automation with Appium and Cypress.
- Experience with API automation frameworks such as REST Assured and Kotest.
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in AI/LLM-based systems, agentic workflows, or intelligent automation.
- Experience with self-healing automation frameworks for mobile, web, and API testing.
- Strong communication, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD providers.
- Deep understanding of testing APIs and microservices.
- Ability to triage bugs to root cause and learn new technologies quickly.
- Experience with JIRA and Atlassian products, including work management and dashboards.
Nice to Have
- Non-functional testing automation using K6 or JMeter.
- GraphQL testing experience.
- Experience with test processes, open-source test frameworks, test-design strategies, test-case writing, and Java automation using JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, JMeter, or Appium.
- Prior consulting experience and a customer-focused approach to external partner teams.
- Experience leading ambiguous situations and resolving technical issues to support project deliverables.
