Leads complex accounting and tax operations, advising on books-to-tax issues, reviewing returns, managing escalations, and developing team capability. Requires an active CPA, EA, or JD, at least five years of relevant experience, and expertise in multi-jurisdictional tax and bookkeeping workflows.

Responsibilities
- Advise on complex financial scenarios and bridge bookkeeping with tax operations to optimize books-to-tax delivery.
- Lead, mentor, and provide feedback to bookkeepers and tax staff.
- Manage complex-tier members through ongoing tax and bookkeeping delivery, including reviewing year-round financial activity and business decisions.
- Handle escalations involving complex situations such as rental property income and multi-state or nexus exposure.
- Review bookkeeping and federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1120-S, and 1065, and Schedules C, E, and SE.
- Serve as the in-house technical expert on multi-state apportionment, nexus, rental property basis, K-1 flow-through, payroll sourcing, and related issues.
- Partner with enablement to create playbooks and training modules.
- Document complex scenarios, identify patterns, and develop training and process improvements.
- Upskill into additional service types and complex work areas, including payroll and additional business tax areas.
Requirements
- Active CPA, EA, or JD in the state of residency.
- 5+ years of experience scaling and bridging bookkeeping and tax operations.
- Technical proficiency in complex bookkeeping and tax preparation, including multi-jurisdictional compliance and Form 1040 and 1120-S preparation.
- Experience managing high-volume workflows and large client portfolios.
- Strong analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex tax matters into scalable workflows across tax practice, bookkeeping, and high-volume service delivery.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, Slack, tax research and preparation tools, and issue-documentation tools.

- $140,000–$180,000 annual salary.
