Strategic Finance Senior Associate - Compute
Owns cost forecasting, capital planning, budget-versus-actual analysis, and site economics for large-scale AI data center build-outs. The role requires at least four years of data center or infrastructure capex experience, strong financial modeling skills, and the ability to partner with technical infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities
- Own the cost base and cost forecast for data center build-outs, including non-recurring costs, hardware capital expenditures across GPUs, networking, and storage, and ongoing operating costs.
- Maintain budget-versus-actual reporting against approved estimates, identify variances and their drivers, and work with Infrastructure Strategy and Infrastructure Engineering to resolve them.
- Maintain all-in unit costs for owned capacity on a dollars-per-GPU-hour basis by GPU type for pricing, margin, and capital allocation decisions.
- Evaluate new data center opportunities, including prepays, financing requirements, tax treatment and incentives, and total cost of ownership over the site's life.
- Pressure-test hardware cost assumptions and identify savings opportunities involving equipment choices, storage sizing, and cluster configuration trade-offs.
- Translate hardware delivery timelines and payment milestones into cash forecasts and track prepays to hardware and data center suppliers.
- Build dashboards and recurring reporting processes covering committed capital, spend to date, and forecast to complete by site.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience with substantive exposure to data center or large-scale infrastructure capital expenditures through operating-side finance, capex planning, infrastructure strategy/FP&A, or investing-side investment banking, infrastructure investing, or project finance.
- Working knowledge of data center cost stacks, including non-recurring costs, GPU, networking and storage hardware capex, power and cooling, operating costs, COGS, depreciation, and cash flow.
- Exceptional financial modeling skills, including site-level total cost of ownership and scenario analysis.
- Experience owning budget-versus-actual reporting for large capital projects.
- Ability to work directly with technical partners and communicate financial conclusions to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong business judgment, problem-solving ability, work ethic, self-direction, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines.
