Release Qualification Team Lead

Leads weekly end-to-end release qualification for Cerebras Cloud, Inference Platform, and Inference API. The role builds a dedicated qualification team, owns triage and release decisions, expands test coverage, and mentors engineers across distributed systems and hardware-backed inference services.

Responsibilities

Drive weekly end-to-end release qualification as the accountable owner.
Build and run a purpose-built release qualification team with planned triage capacity.
Own the release qualification lifecycle, including test planning, release planning, documentation, and tooling.
Own triage, debugging, and escalation during release windows, including release-blocking decisions and routing fixes to the appropriate owners.
Expand end-to-end coverage across Cerebras Cloud, Inference Platform, and Inference API.
Partner with the cross-organizational release qualification team as the technical counterpart for the tests.
Distinguish regressions from flakiness and maintain records of known issues and escalation paths.
Mentor engineers on triage, debugging practices, and qualification methodology.

Requirements

7+ years of relevant industry experience in software integration, development, or quality engineering, including release qualification experience.
Proven ownership of end-to-end release or qualification processes for complex, distributed systems.
Strong record of debugging complex issues across distributed, scaled-out deployments under release-blocking time pressure.
Deep expertise in automation and programming using one or more languages such as Python.
Experience designing and building reusable test frameworks.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives spanning product development, product management, and field teams.
Sound judgment on coverage trade-offs, risk-based prioritization, and go/no-go release decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting technical findings to engineering and leadership audiences.
Strong organizational skills, ownership mindset, and ability to drive projects to completion.
Experience leading and mentoring engineers across geographically dispersed teams and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with machine learning workloads, including large language model or multimodal training or inference.
Experience designing test strategies for distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
Experience with microservices deployment, debugging, and orchestration at scale.
Familiarity with hardware-backed inference services and hardware/software trade-offs.
Experience building or significantly shaping a quality engineering culture or test infrastructure.
