Learning Engineer

Build AI-powered learning experiences that help learners develop real skills by translating instructional expertise into product specifications, prototypes, and quality systems. The role requires practical teaching experience, strong learning-science knowledge, excellent writing, and comfort with Python or JavaScript and modern AI tools.

About the job

Responsibilities

  • Design learning experiences including practice tasks, explanations, feedback, and assessments, and build them into the product.
  • Translate pedagogy into specifications AI systems can execute, including lesson quality, feedback content, learner outputs, and evaluation criteria.
  • Define quality standards for AI-generated teaching content and build automated checks to enforce them.
  • Prototype and ship working learning experiences using AI tools.
  • Observe learners, run pilots, and iterate based on outcomes.
  • Collaborate directly with the founding team on teaching quality.

Requirements

  • Real teaching experience in a classroom, corporate training, coaching, or course-creation setting.
  • In-depth knowledge and applied experience with instructional design and learning science, including retrieval practice, worked examples, feedback, and cognitive load.
  • Hands-on building experience with modern AI tools and light engineering using Python or JavaScript.
  • Experience creating interactive, applied learning experiences.
  • Excellent English writing, learning-content authoring, and editing skills.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience designing for adult professional learners or workplace upskilling.
  • Experience building with LLMs, including prompt pipelines, generated-content quality gates, and AI feedback on learner work.
  • Assessment-design experience with rubrics, performance tasks, or mastery measurement.
  • Experience in marketing, business, or another applied professional domain.
